Christmas is such a special time, its about helping others and being so thankful for all of the blessings that we have. Each year since I was two years old, I have worked at the Christmas in the Park event in South Dallas with the S.M Wright Foundation helping to put a smile on a childs face by giving them a toy, book, bike, mattress, or coat.

For the past three years my sister, Maddy❤️, has been the president of the Coats For Kids Club at our highschool where we raise money during a cash drive and then purchase new coats to hand out to the thousands of children who come to the event with no coat and are often freezing as the winter comes. This year I decided to turn the club into a non-profit called For Kids working with three high schools in the Dallas Metroplex to expand our impact to help more kids.

Rev Wright has taught us through giving kids a coat a smile and encouragement we can bring them hope to keep going. That is our goal with Coats for Kids.

Here is a bit about The Coats for Kids fundraiser and how you can help by donating today.

“Our purpose is to provide funding and resources for underprivileged children and families through a nonprofit called the For Kids Foundation. We will collect cash donations to buy discounted coats from our partner Burlington Coat Factory and at the S.M. Wright annual Christmas in the Park event we will help pass out coats to families in need of them.  Donations will be accepted from November 27, 2017 thorugh December 15, 2017. Thank you for helping us give back to our community this year!”
