CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK
Christmas in the Park is an amazing event bringing resources, happiness & hope to kids who are less fortunate in Dallas. The S.M Wright Foundation began this event eighteen years ago to lift the spirits of working families that are below the poverty line and may not be able to give their families the Christmas they wished they could. What started as one gift per child in Rev S.M. Wright Jr’s church pews is now 40,000 people at Fair Park hoping for toys, bikes, beds, clothes, books and coats. My sister started Coats for Kids which fund raises — & buys new coats from Burlington for the kids attending the event. This year my sister and I were overwhelmed by the sweet generosity & kindness of so many people donating to help Coats For Kids. We are so blessed to say our club raised $27,596 and because of that were able to buy 2,300 new coats. I believe helping others in need is the true spirit of Christmas!! The S.M Wright Foundation is such a blessing to so many families in the Dallas area.
